Moss

Through the water I wadded, slowly the cold creeping up to my chest, the heat of the day was unbearable and the cold, a relief.

I pressed forward the heart cooling, slowing and the mind clearing. Up in front the water fell filtered through the moss. Each stream an individual drop united to form a string, a necklace of pearls reflecting the suns light.

I reached out to touch and my hand sank into the soft. Those five centimetres of give, the gentle resistance and response were pleasure. The cold and grainy friction released the tension in my heart and brought a smile to my face. Pure nature, simple touch and ecstasy.

The Boat

Let me be… let me be, let me travel from land to sea, why oh why d’you put me here, this land around is full of fear.

The sea is where free energy flows, the water is, all I know.

Let me float with wind and tide, let me escape these humans who have no eyes,

No eyes to see what’s wrong, no freedom to feel their inner song, to shout out loud, to feel their soul, they just dig and dig inside their hole.

But when they realise they are in too deep, the sides to climb are just too steep.

So please release me from this tree and let me feel the water, surround me.

Instant

It’s strange, sometimes you just know, you pick your head up and see it. The picture is clear it says something to you straight away. You look them in the eyes and instantly there is a connexion. But then, all the shit gets muddled, the perception of them, the self perception of you and the ‘what’s the right’ just gets in the way, so you stop. You reach the end of the road and that’s that. The eyes don’t look the same, the feeling in the heart is different and there is just a little sadness in the mind. What might have been, what could have been done differently, it all moves away.

I wish I would really seize the moment, capture it, act on it, stretch out that first flash when you saw the picture, when you felt the bite, like the tickle on your teeth when you bite down on a perfectly ripe nectarine. Or maybe if I did it would be awkward and bitter and the reality would be much worse than the thought in the imagination. Maybe the teeth would just find the stone.

Patience

After you see the cat with the third eye you know that life is going to be a little different, how you are probably never sure, but for certain there will be a change.

It’s difficult to work out how much to take from the things you have seen, how much the clues from mother nature are of value to your choices, but there has to be something in it. The energy you take from pacha-mamma must affect you in some way, like the sun for plants, for every action there is a re-action, all the cliches.

Difficult to say, but the cat was beautiful that’s for sure and there seemed to be a clarity to the shapes and colours with current thoughts. I suppose you take a little of this and a little of that and hope you have the right balance.

The Shard

She had been playing by the pond for many months, creating bridges, dams, harbours, sinking stones or fishing them out, but this winter something had caught her attention, something had appeared deep down, right at its heart.

It flickered… sometimes it was bright and shiny, sometimes dull and grey, sometimes it wasn’t there at all. Sometimes she looked and looked but it didn’t appear and sometimes it was there standing proud, staring right back at her, as if it was shouting ‘COME AND GET ME!’

Old and New

James stood there looking out at the horizon. He smiled to himself as the blues and pinks blurred together where the sky met the sea. He raised his hand, held an imaginary brush and started to paint, softening the lines where the colours met, blending them together in his mind.

After five minutes of work, the colours started to change, he stopped, sat on the tree stump and cocked his head.

‘needs more orange’ he said to himself out loud…

…and continued, dipping his brush into the pallet and detailing the new colour infusion. How quickly things change, how hard was it to capture a moment. His thoughts drifted away from the make believe painting to how the horizon might have looked before the huge electricity poles, before all the houses and industry soaked up the water of the valley like a sponge. ‘I bet even then the sunset then would have been different. Green perhaps?’ he laughed to himself.

His thoughts continued a pace, ‘maybe 30 years ago the electricity poles would have looked so ugly on the horizon, but now they are strangely attractive, I wonder what human ugliness will bring next, and how we will start to love it.’

People

They are everywhere, they have their own thoughts, their own opinions, they tell stories about their lives and try to get you to see the world like they do.

But how many of their opinions are actually theirs, how many times do they actually stop to think and ask the question of themselves, what do I think?

Joe paused and looked up and down the beach, looked at the crowds hiding the sand, he took a deep breath and looked his girlfriend in the eye, swallowed and forced the words out. ‘One of the top five beaches in Greece? Really, do you really think that this is beautiful?’

And that was it, he knew it was over, she had tried hard, tried to make an effort and make the holiday nice, but this was too much for him. They were just different. She walked off and he tried to sit down and look out to the sea, but he was too close to the fat German couple for comfort. He walked off in the opposite direction from his girlfriend.

Fuck it, he thought to himself, at least I can say I was there.

Dragons

I remember playing with the kids, I remember what it was like to step into a room of children and feel their expectations. They were always ready to have fun and cause mischief. But the greatest thing about the children is that they didn’t carry any of the adult shit their heads, their minds were simple and they saw the beauty and excitement in everything.

That’s what inspired my journey, that’s why I left the city I wanted to look and to stare at the simple things, see the beauty in the ugliness, see the beauty in all the small things that we ignore. I wanted to look at things with a child’s eyes, to not worry about what everyone thought, to turn the brain off and kindle the excitement inside me for the world and the people in it.

… and so I did, I stopped to look at things and found Dragons.

All You Can See

It was hard to describe, it spread fast, captured the attention, but still maintained its secrets. Perhaps people in love should follow its example, show everything, but hide something.

Anyway it was effective and after several years it had a strangle hold on the people’s lives. The population needed the blossom to survive, petals provided protection from the sun, pollen the support for the immune system and the nuts, nourishment for life. It hadn’t taken long for all the farmers to dig up their fields and plant the blossom once its value had been proved and it meant that the landscape was now, well it was pink.

The landscape looked amazing, beautiful, a sea of pink, but people did not realise that the plants that grew were sucking the life from the earth. The secret to the humans survival was actually what would kill them in the end. I guess that is the danger of beauty.
